Keywords

The 16 exact control-flow and declaration keywords recognized by the lexer.

Reserved words

Keywords are lowercase and matched as complete identifiers. true and false are boolean literal tokens, documented separately.

`function`	Declare a module-level function
`return`	Exit the current script or function
`if`	Begin a conditional
`elseif`	Add a conditional branch
`else`	Add a fallback branch
`for`	Iterate a range, scalar, or matrix columns
`parfor`	Run a constrained parallel range loop
`while`	Repeat while a condition is true
`break`	Exit the innermost loop
`continue`	Advance the innermost loop
`switch`	Select by scalar value
`case`	Define a switch match
`otherwise`	Define a switch fallback
`try`	Begin runtime error handling
`catch`	Handle a runtime error
`end`	Close a block or address the current index bound

Context matters

end closes blocks and also resolves the current matrix bound inside an index. break and continue are rejected outside loops, including in branches that would never execute.
